Delivering Excellence in Water Infrastructure
M Group Services, a leading provider of essential infrastructure services, is seeking a highly skilled Control and Automation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering Team, you will be responsible for managing systems aspects of clean and wastewater projects within our capital delivery works program.
Key Responsibilities
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team on projects focusing on water and wastewater control system replacement, M&E capital maintenance, and growth projects.
- Support Project Managers with knowledge to complete design and project engineering deliverables within the Pre-Construction phase and Delivery phase.
- Plan, execute, monitor, and control engineering output for projects in terms of scope, time, cost, quality, resource, communications, risk, and stakeholder management.
- Balance the needs of multiple projects.
- Lead and coordinate the overall technical coordination and production of multi-disciplinary outputs and designs for specified teams.
- Actively coordinate with all other internal/external project team members.
- Participate in or lead client meetings.
- Ensure engineering teams understand and apply the requirements of M Group Services' Management Systems, including Health & Safety, Environmental, and all other relevant regulations.
- Support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
- Review design approach, calculations, drawings, and documents.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and identify innovation/best practices for consideration.
Requirements
- Electrical Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent in engineering or related discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in design development for clean/wastewater non-infrastructure projects is desirable.
- Experience in producing control philosophy and functional design specification documents.
- Experience in producing migration strategy documents.
- Chartered or Incorporated (CEng/IEng) or working towards is desirable.
- Leadership skills to manage EICA bias design/engineering teams and create positive change.
- Previous utility industry knowledge and experience is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to liaise and engage with clients and key stakeholders.
- Provide mentoring, guidance, and technical advice to support and supervise junior staff.
- Proven ability to work within a team environment with a dedicated approach to meet project deadlines.
- Good written and oral communication and organizational skills.
- Computer literate and conversant with the MS Office suite.
