Russell Taylor Group Ltd is seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join their team in the West Midlands. As a leading provider of Mechanical and Electrical services, the company has a strong presence in the construction industry, serving various sectors including Industrial, Logistics, Food, Pharmaceutical, Data Centre, Mining, Healthcare, Commercial, Hotel & Leisure, High-End Residential, Public, and Energy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates for company projects from pre-tender to post-tender stage. This will involve maintaining consistent communication with stakeholders, both internally and externally, to optimize the company's commercial advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a consistent workflow to maintain the company's operational efficiency in Ireland and the UK.
  • Guarantee that each tender is completed consistently and in line with company procedure.
  • Gain knowledge of actual installation time and review projects after completion to evaluate where actual is not in line with budgeted.
  • Assist the estimating team in achieving the business unit's revenue plan by assisting with the production of accurate and timely estimates.
  • Prepare each tender in a consistently structured and accurate format in line with company policies, standards, and processes, with appropriate consideration of all foreseeable construction, technical, and commercial risks.
  • Produce accurate take-off/measures of tenders and subsequent inputting into estimating software to ensure that the prime cost of the project is fully understood.
  • Vet enquiries received to comply with the preparation and dispatch of accurate supplier/subcontract enquiries to the timescales dictated.
  • Work with specialist subcontractors and assess quotations with a view to validating the information received and confirming that it is spec compliant.
  • Prepare Product Substitution and Value Engineering options.
  • Gain up-to-date knowledge of the market place regarding the level of pricing, competition, and volume of work to ensure that relevant and competitive estimates are consistently prepared.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator or of preparing electrical estimations.
  • Knowledge of Electrical installations is an advantage but not essential.
  • Bachelor Degree Level in Engineering or similar Discipline.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
