The Role

Newcastle College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our Construction Building Services department as an Advanced Technical Lecturer in Electrical Installations or Electrotechnical.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver and assess high-quality learning programmes in Electrical Installations or Electrotechnical across various levels of further education and/or apprenticeship provision.
  • Undertake programme leadership, tutorial, and programme administration duties.
  • Develop and maintain a strong background in Electrical and the Built Environment.
  • Hold a proven track record of professional/vocational expertise in the Built Environment with an Electrical installation Domestic Commercial or electrotechnical bias.
  • Be suitably qualified to the industry-and recognised standard in relevant built environment electrical qualifications at L3 minimum, AM2, and electrical inspection.
  • Hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe.
  • Have experience of effective programme leadership in FE, HE, and/or Apprenticeships, and a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.

Requirements

  • Self-manage workload, meet deadlines, and possess strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills.
  • Be flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends according to demand.
