About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Social Worker to join our team as a Designated Safeguarding Lead at Rhodes Wood Hospital, a specialist Inpatient Eating Disorder service for children and young people aged 8-18 years.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the completion of service users' CPA documents, providing comprehensive assessment reports when required.
  • Complete focused work with individual young people using a range of interventions, as part of an agreed care plan.
  • Maintain contact with young people's families, carers, and/or significant others, offering support, information, and joint family and patient sessions where relevant to the care plan.
  • Take a leading role in promoting anti-discriminatory practice, linking the young person's individual circumstances to the broader social, political, legal, and cultural context.
  • Assist in the assessment of suitable aftercare placement, working across professional boundaries.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of social work inputs to the care plan, including Section 117 care planning and transfer summaries.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day administration of annual leave and sickness within the social work department.
Requirements
  • Be a qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Have a minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience.
  • Have experience working within a forensic or eating disorder setting.
