Job Description:

We are looking for an individual who can work independently and as part of a team to manage day-to-day repairs, maintenance, and security tasks. The School Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Security: Opening up and locking up premises
  • Maintenance: Minor and major repairs, DIY tasks
  • Operations: Managing heating, lighting, and other facilities
  • Safety: Conducting various safety checks including HASAW and COSHH
  • Reporting: Identifying and reporting major repair issues
  • Contractor Management: Directing contractors on-site to their designated work areas
  • Supplies: Ensuring an adequate supply of toiletries on a daily basis
  • Compliance: Conducting Water Hygiene Systems Monitoring and weekly fire alarm tests
  • Inventory: Managing stock and supplies efficiently

Required Skills and Qualifications:

We require someone with excellent communication skills, the ability to work flexibly, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. A good understanding of health and safety procedures and a willingness to learn and develop new skills are essential.
