Wing Design Engineer Job Description

Line Up Aviation is seeking a highly skilled Wing Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for ensuring the structural design of our aircraft meets the required airworthiness and product standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement design solutions that meet programme requirements and Design Quality Assurance Criteria.
  • Lead technical studies, trades, and investigations to deliver technical solutions in accordance with relevant Design methods and procedures.
  • Manage and deliver change through Mod opening, DFM release, and Stage 3 Closure of Mods on time, to cost, and quality.
  • Provide design leadership and ownership of Lean Engineering improvements, particularly 'Right First Time' and Lead Time Reduction.
  • Ensure effective organization and governance of design and maturity reviews in line with company policies, processes, and practices.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in leading a design or project team.
  • Ability to lead complex or multi-value projects.
  • Delivering projects to Time, Cost, and Quality.
  • Finding creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Risk management and taking calculated risks.
  • Ability to make or influence decisions in a complex network of stakeholders and customers.
  • Integrate with and influence technical experts and specialists to achieve optimum technical and business solutions.
  • Strong track record of maturing new technologies, implementing Design to Cost projects, and initiating strategic technology projects.
  • Knowledge and experience of design toolsets, including CATIA V5, ICC, Zamiz, ECM, Solings, and PASS.
  • Design Authorisation Signatory is essential.
