About the Role

Mace is seeking a Senior Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our construct business, you will play a critical role in shaping our health and wellbeing strategy and ensuring the safety of our employees and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement health and wellbeing policies, procedures, and standards that align with our company values and objectives.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance to senior leadership and operational teams on health and wellbeing matters.
  • Support the delivery of our business and health and wellbeing strategy through ownership and delivery of projects and programmes.
  • Collaborate with HR and health, safety, and wellbeing functions to ensure seamless support to our clients across all groups and geographies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest thinking and research on organisational health and wellbeing.
  • Analyse data outputs from surveys, audits, and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Manage relationships and performance of suppliers to ensure contractual arrangements are delivered to quality, time, and budget.
  • Work with senior leaders, health, safety, and wellbeing stakeholders to deliver cost-effective and efficient health and wellbeing performance.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement plans and key business improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of our net zero carbon transition strategy and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions.
Requirements
  • Experience and knowledge of health and wellbeing legislation and delivery relevant to the role.
  • Current health and wellbeing issues and trends.
  • Ability to support and develop team members' health and wellbeing competency.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience initiating, delivering, and managing organisational health and wellbeing projects and programmes.
  • Knowledge and application of relevant legislation and best practice.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to coach and develop teams and individuals in developing health and wellbeing competency.
  • Project and programme management skills and experience.
  • Communication and presenting skills.
  • Analytical thinking and ability to generate insights from health and wellbeing data sources.
  • Self-motivated and purpose-led.
  • Able to motivate a team and/or peers.
  • Work in a collaborative manner.
  • Deliver results through influencing and negotiation.
  • Experience of delivering strategic plans and meeting objectives.
  • Able to challenge the status quo.
  • Professional qualification or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience of management in an organisation.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
