Job Title: Instructor Technician in STEM - Automotive Engineering

Chichester College Group is seeking an experienced Instructor Technician to join our STEM department. As an Instructor Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the Automotive Engineering team with day-to-day operations and instruction in the workshop and classroom areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the delivery of automotive engineering courses, including instruction and supervision of students
  • Provide technical support to staff and students, including the safe use of equipment
  • Manage the daily operation of workshop equipment and teaching resources
  • Prepare and supervise designated areas for teaching
  • Participate in marketing activities and promote the college
  • Liaise with Additional Support to ensure students receive appropriate support
  • Implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures
  • Monitor and maintain equipment, and prepare replacement plans
  • Order and stock materials and equipment, and provide feedback to suppliers
  • Clean and maintain working spaces, and provide technical support and assistance for projects
Requirements:
  • Level 2 qualification in the relevant subject area
  • Level 2 in literacy and numeracy, or willingness to work towards
  • Time management skills, organisational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate to a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing
  • Relevant industrial/subject experience
  • Experience following/applying Health and Safety procedures
  • Experience maintaining relevant equipment
  • Experience ordering supplies, and maintaining stock levels
