Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Customs Clearance Specialist to join our team at Aspion. As a Customs Clearance Specialist, you will be responsible for managing customs data entry to ensure all clearance procedures are executed compliantly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

* Utilize customs software packages to submit declarations, including Destin8 and Descartes.
* Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of customs entry declarations for both import and export, with a solid knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
* Prepare, handle, and submit transit documentation such as T2L, EUR1, ATR, and CMR.
* Liaise with government bodies such as HMRC.
* Possess a strong understanding of applying VAT and excise duties.
* Have experience working with currencies and rates of exchange.
* Demonstrate a good understanding of import and export quotas.

Requirements:

* Experience within customs declarations and clearances
* Previous experience of import or export clearances
* Experience of dealing with customers directly either within road transport or shipping
* Experience of using customs software, including Destin8 and Descartes
* Strong communication skills, verbal and written. Interfacing between the management team, HMRC, customs, suppliers and end Customers
* Good organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise workloads.
* Strong customer service skills
* Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
* Competent decision making
