About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Manager to join our Eastern and Midlands team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for coordinating and integrating the activities of external design consultants to ensure that all projects are delivered on time and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the design process during the pre-construction and construction phases, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Interrogate enquiry documents, including Employer's Requirements, to ensure that all necessary information is obtained.
  • Produce Contractor's Proposal documents in liaison with internal departments, ensuring that all necessary information is included.
  • Drive innovative and cost-effective solutions into the design, ensuring that all projects are delivered with the highest quality and efficiency.
  • Progress design issues within strict timescales, ensuring that designers meet information delivery dates.
Requirements
  • Experience of delivering high-value, complex design work from the main contractor perspective.
  • Ability to organize, plan, program, and manage workloads, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Understanding of Building Regulations and Planning Permission procedures.
  • Understanding of DFE projects and their requirements.
  • Experience of site/contract procedures would be an advantage.
