An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Accountant to join our Chester office. The role involves acting as principal contact for a portfolio of clients and supporting the team in various areas.

The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing financial statements, year-end accounts, other accounting and financial returns (VAT, Management accounts, cash flow forecasts etc).

A strong team player who has the ability to work under minimal supervision and drive projects forward is required.

The successful applicant will have passion for helping UHY clients prosper through building profitable and successful businesses.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accountant looking for a new challenge with a nationally recognised firm. We offer a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience, plus benefits including pension scheme arrangements and client referral bonus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial statements, year-end accounts, other accounting and financial returns (VAT, Management accounts, cash flow forecasts etc).
  • Act as principal contact for own portfolio of clients.
  • Support the team in various areas such as tackling more complex accounts work and assisting managers with various client-related tasks.
  • Develop Xero-based and other Cloud apps and services.
Requirements
  • Qualified AAT or qualified by experience.
  • Substantial accounting experience in practice, ideally gained in a UK professional Firm.
  • Experience in using Xero and Sage.
