About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Claims Handler to join our Fleet and Specialist product team. As a Claims Handler, you will be responsible for proactively managing a portfolio of Fleet and Specialist products in motor claims from start to settlement, covering all Heads of Damage such as Accidental Damage, Property Damage, Credit Hire, and Third-party Personal Injury claims (Portal and Non Portal).

Key Responsibilities
  • Validate all claims for indemnity and fraud, ensuring accurate and timely decision-making.
  • Assess liability, including communication of our decision, to ensure transparency and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with claimants, representatives, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless claim resolution.
  • Accurately assess quantum claims using relevant tools and resources, minimizing indemnity spend and ensuring commercial decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to intervene on vehicle losses, utilizing specialist in-house motor engineers to reduce overall exposure.
  • Proactively manage diaries to monitor and progress cases, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Apply and investigate to ensure accurate reserves in line with company guidelines, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Accountability for own performance against set objectives, adhering to best practice and key strategies.
  • Effective file and portfolio management, ensuring seamless claim resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with coaching and mentoring of less experienced handlers, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
Requirements
  • Strong Insurance background with a working knowledge in Indemnity.
  • Persuasive, strong, and confident communicator with the ability to relationship manage.
  • Ability to use own initiative to explore all options to achieve the best outcome for the business.
  • Motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Ability to work in a culture of openness, trust, and respect.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to fact-find and analyze information to result in accurate decision-making.
  • Significant PI and/or credit hire claims experience, commercial market awareness, and extensive working knowledge of the Pre-Action Protocol, Civil Procedure Rules & hourly rate costs.
  • Experience of handling Injury claims outside of the Low Value Personal Injury claims Portal.
