Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Support Worker/Personal Assistant to provide support for an individual with a learning disability in the Blyth area. The successful candidate will work closely with the individual's parents to ensure their needs are met and provide a safe and supportive environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support with daily living tasks, including showering, dressing, and medication management.
  • Assist with mobility and handling, including the use of a ceiling track hoist and powered wheelchair.
  • Support with continence issues and the use of a Convene Catheter.
  • Accompany the individual on outings and activities, promoting social interaction and community engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of support provided and communicate effectively with the individual's parents and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experience of supporting individuals with learning disabilities and epilepsy.
  • Understanding of moving and handling techniques and the use of equipment such as ceiling track hoists.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a mobility vehicle.
