Project Controller Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Controller to join our team at Leonardo. As a Project Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of project schedules and schedule analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver project controls on projects through the application of consistent processes and methods.
  • Own and manage project schedules, driving optimal schedule quality and best practice management techniques.
  • Apply resource scheduling techniques to optimize schedules and identify and resolve conflicts.
  • Provide project controls support to the establishment and management of activities in the bid phase.
  • Conduct what-if analysis to drive decision-making and risk mitigation.
  • Apply schedule risk analysis techniques to identify, analyze, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Apply project controls metrics and measures, including Earned Value, to report on project outcomes and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Actively contribute to project and schedule reviews through delivering project controls inputs.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with all functions across applicable projects.

Requirements:

  • Self-motivated with an aptitude for problem-solving and driving difficult issues to conclusion.
  • Ability to work within a team and manage own workload and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Record and report progress of activities and tasks.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills.
  • Practical and demonstrable experience of project planning and control principles.
  • Experience using techniques and procedures, such as Earned Value, Work Breakdown Structure, and Network Planning.
  • Proficient in SAP/Primavera Tool for planning and project management elements or similar planning tool.
  • Breadth of understanding in all parts of the project lifecycle and experience in planning and execution phases.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, using data and analysis to support line of reasoning.
  • Good level of business knowledge to perform what-if scenarios.
  • Ability to work independently within well-defined procedures and require minimal supervision.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Hold APMG Project Controls Foundation and Practitioner Level Certification or meets the criteria to undertake this training.
