About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at Pennine Care NHS FT. As a Consultant Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist, you will be responsible for providing specialist out-patient and consultation services to children and young people aged 5-18 years in generic CAMHS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a psychiatric service for children and young people in Bury CAMHS.
  • Undertake direct clinical work and provide supervision to the MDT and work in partnership with other agencies.
  • Take clinical responsibility for a caseload.
  • Manage a needs-led interface with Working Age Psychiatry.
  • Work creatively with other agencies who are involved with children and young people (Paediatrics, Schools and colleges, YOT, Drug and Alcohol services, CCG, Local Authority).
  • Provide clinical supervision as required to junior medical staff.
  • Support the continued development of the Bury CAMHS service.
  • Adhere to all relevant local and national safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the other CAMHS Consultants, Operational and multidisciplinary staff, Directorate managers.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Full GMC Registration.
  • Possession of CCT in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, or be within 6 months of achieving this or entered on the GMC Specialist Register.
  • Section 12 Approval under Mental Health Act 1983, or be eligible for approval.

Desirable

  • Published research MRCPsych.
  • Postgraduate degrees MSc, MD etc.
  • Experience in the use of the Mental Health Act (1983).
