Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Agricultural Technician to join our team at Smallridge Bros Ltd. As an Agricultural Technician, you will be responsible for performing diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment, including AMS products, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Complete all necessary reports and administrative tasks related to work assignments, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and regulations, and assist in the overall workshop organization.
  • Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to enhance skills and knowledge in agricultural equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs in the field, as required, to provide exceptional customer service and support.
  • Conduct pre-delivery setup on new or used equipment, ensuring it is in excellent working condition.
  • Mentor and train apprentices, sharing expertise and knowledge to ensure their success in the role.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in performing service repairs and maintenance on agricultural equipment.
  • Ability to use specialized tools and equipment, following approved technical procedures, to effect repairs and maintenance.
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, enabling effective repair and maintenance of agricultural equipment.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications and internet functions, including ability to access and utilize technical documentation.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills, with ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products, including ability to troubleshoot and repair complex issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • Forklift and vehicle driving license preferred, with ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
