As an experienced Electrician Technician at BAE Systems in Portsmouth, you will have the opportunity to work on various electrical projects and play a vital role in ensuring high-quality installations.

Salary Information: Estimated salary: £34,640 (shift allowance of 33% may be applicable)

About This Position:

  • This is a challenging role that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret electrical drawings, MDS, and guidance information.
  • You will be responsible for performing electrical testing, crimping techniques, soldering, and executing various tasks related to electrical installation, maintenance, and defect rectification.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of electrical systems, particularly those involving 12v, 24v, 110v, 240v, and 440v, is required.
  • You will also be involved in the installation, testing, and maintenance of communications equipment like VHF radios, Intercom, GPS, and AIS.
  • Fault diagnosis and defect rectification are critical aspects of this role, requiring attention to detail and a systematic approach.
  • Additionally, you must be proficient in using measuring equipment and calibrating them as needed.

  • Perform routine inspections and quality control checks on electrical installations.
  • Collaborate with other teams to resolve issues and implement improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and progress made.
