About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at NHS Blood and Transplant. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient collection of blood and blood products, while providing exceptional care to our donors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess donor suitability and ensure donor and product safety in line with regulatory and governance standards.
  • Support the Sister/Charge Nurse in organizing session activities to provide assurance of staff, donor, and product safety.
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in core blood/component collection skills, including venepuncture.
  • Act quickly and effectively in emergency situations, ensuring the safety of donors and staff.
  • Lead by example, providing guidance and support to the collection team to deliver excellent donor care and service.
  • Communicate effectively with management and colleagues to escalate any clinical or operational issues.
  • Travel between Blood Donation Centres and community venues as required.
About You

We are looking for a Registered Nurse with a strong clinical background and excellent communication skills. You will have a passion for delivering high-quality patient care and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

As a Registered Nurse with NHS Blood and Transplant, you will have access to a comprehensive training program, including induction and ongoing assessment, as well as opportunities for leadership and management development.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a minimum of 27 days annual leave per year, plus 8 bank/public holidays dependent on length of service.
