Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team as a Deputy Dispensary Team Leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the dispensary, including planning and coordinating activities, and ensuring that all prescriptions are dispensed accurately and in good time.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist with the management of the dispensary, including planning and coordinating activities.
  • Lead the technical team in the provision of a dispensary-based service to out-patients, in-patients, and private patients.
  • Ensure that all prescriptions are dispensed accurately and in good time, with appropriate supporting advice, in accordance with the dispensary's standard operating procedures.
  • Support the Dispensary Manager with the day-to-day running of the dispensary.
  • Dispense out-patient and in-patient prescriptions, discharge medication, and controlled drugs in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
  • Be a proficient operator and trouble-shooter for the Automated Dispensing Robot.
  • Be responsible for training new staff to operate the Robot.
  • Deputise for the Dispensary Manager in their absence.
  • Assist in the recruitment of technicians and assistants and organise their induction.
  • Be responsible for own continuing professional development (CPD).
