About Us

AWE plc is a leading provider of nuclear deterrent capabilities and cyber security solutions. We are seeking an experienced Cybernetic Engineer to join our team at our Orion Laser Facility in the UK.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining software that controls sub-systems via HMIs to meet business requirements. Your technical skills will include experience using LabVIEW, developing and adapting SCADA systems components, and performing full-scale integration and testing.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build and maintain software that controls sub-systems via HMIs.
  • Develop and adapt SCADA systems components.
  • Perform full-scale integration and testing.
  • Provide technical support for software and services supported by the team.
  • Produce required documentation to support all phases of the software development process.
  • Be accountable for the safety and security of all work carried out.
Requirements
  • Experience using LabVIEW.
  • Experience of developing and adapting SCADA systems components.
  • Troubleshooting and supporting multidisciplined teams with any software issues.
  • Writing technical documentation to meet customer requirements.
  • ONC/HNC in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
  • Ensuring high quality of work delivered.
