Mechanical Design Engineer Required

Our client, a leading manufacturer of specialized process and packaging equipment, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the design and development team, you will be responsible for creating mechanical designs and drawings for their equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate manufacturing drawings and equipment layouts, including supporting mechanical documentation.
  • Maintain existing mechanical drawings and documentation for upgraded or modified equipment.
  • Collaborate with the drawing office and mechanical technicians/sub-suppliers to ensure accurate parts ordering and supply.
  • Liaise with the Drawing Office Manager to ensure project timelines are met and deviations are communicated to the project team.
  • Ensure all mechanical drawings are updated in a timely manner and shared with relevant departments, with current revisions maintained in the data-management system (Autodesk Vault).
  • Assist with other tasks within the Drawing Office Department, such as enquiry drawings and site surveys.
Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk products, including AutoCAD (2D), Inventor (3D), and Autodesk Vault.
  • Mechanical design experience in an industrial design role.
  • Recognized engineering certification/apprenticeship.
  • Good understanding of engineering techniques, including machining, sheet metal, and fabrication.
  • Able to interpret equipment assembly drawings and maintain high-quality finishes.
  • Able to adhere to industry-recognized engineering design standards.
