Job Title: Utilities Engineer

Kepak Group, a leading Irish-owned food company, is seeking a skilled Utilities Engineer to join its team. As a Utilities Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and mains water network.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain the semi-automated WWTP, monitoring all stages of the process and making adjustments as necessary to ensure compliance with discharge limits.
  • Provide first-line engineering support to the WWTP Operative on day-to-day operational activities within the plant.
  • Support sample testing, monitoring, and recording of key levels such as COD, Iron, and Suspended Solids to ensure compliance with set limits and trend data for analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records using site systems, CMMS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Perform routine planned maintenance of the WWTP and mains water network as set out in the CMMS.
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical works associated with the scope of the role.
  • Provide sound technical knowledge to support asset reliability, performance, and improvements.
  • Support the wider engineering function as aligned to the position as required.
  • Liaise with external bodies within the scope of the role, including utility providers, governing bodies, and contractors.

  • Time served apprenticeship, NVQ 3 or HNC in mechatronics/electrotechnical – Essential.
  • 2+ years previous experience in wastewater treatment – Essential.
  • Proven and demonstrable experience in mechanical, electrical, and automation engineering – Essential.
  • Computer literate and experience in CMMS and Microsoft Office Suite – Essential.
