Job Description

Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced Embedded Control Systems Security Engineer to join our team.

About the Role

This role involves working with our colleagues to design and implement customized embedded control systems consisting of both software and hardware. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science, information technology or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience working in the UK.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable communicating with customers and has strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with network equipment, firewalls, switches, GPS clocks, redundant network designs and protocols is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement secure network architecture for SCADA systems
  • Evaluate and strengthen the security of connections to the SCADA network
  • Monitor and validate third-party security patches to ensure system reliability
  • Implement security features provided by device and system vendors
  • Establish strong controls over backdoors into the SCADA network
  • Implement internal and external intrusion detection systems in the SCADA network
  • Perform VAPT & technical audits of SCADA devices and networks to identify security concerns
Qualifications/Background
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in the UK
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English and comfortable in customer discussions
  • Experience with Microsoft client- and server operating systems, Active Directory, databases and high-availability solutions
  • Experience with scripting languages and automation technologies, port-, vulnerability-, and malware scanners
Salary

£65,000 - £85,000 per annum
