Job Title: Senior Tailoring and Outerwear Designer

New World Fashion Sourcing is a leading Vietnamese woven manufacturer with a global presence. We are seeking an experienced Senior Tailoring and Outerwear Designer to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented designer to create exciting commercial products for several UK & European retailers. The successful candidate will work closely with our design team to produce seasonal trend analysis, sketch dynamic products, and manage sample lead times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop seasonal trend analysis and colour direction.
  • Work closely with retailer buying and design departments to identify key opportunities within trend, shape, fabric, and trim.
  • Design and sketch commercial products that meet each retailer's individual brand identity and price points.
  • Manage sample lead times efficiently and work closely with pattern cutters to maintain the vision of the product.
  • Source and develop key season bases and textures with fabric mills to ensure affordable newness.
  • Continuously assess sample ranges to ensure Company standards are maintained.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in tailoring and outerwear design for a retailer or supplier.
  • Experience in managing and delegating work to junior team members.
  • Confident in carrying out independent customer meetings.
  • Literate in Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Extensive garment construction knowledge.
  • Good understanding of fabric to select qualities that deliver on aesthetic, cost, and sustainability.
  • Great organisational, time management, and self-motivation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
