Job Title: Band 6 Specialist Radiographer


Job Summary: University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Specialist Radiographer to join our Imaging Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality imaging services to our patients while ensuring a positive experience for all.


Main Responsibilities:



  • Support the day-to-day running of a designated area of the Imaging Department, prioritizing clinical workload and supporting the training and development of junior staff.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Team Leader to ensure the smooth operation of the department, deputizing in their absence as needed.
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning properly, prioritize referrals, and participate in departmental audits.
  • Develop strong relationships with other departments within the hospital and external visitors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • DCR/BSc Diagnostic Radiography qualification and HCPC registration.
  • Relevant UK experience and professional knowledge acquired through degree-level courses.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate junior staff and demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills, with the ability to supply accurate and precise information.
  • Able to participate in the Out-of-Hours service and provide cover for colleague absences as required.
