About the Role

The Department of Linguistics at UCL seeks to train the next generation of linguists who are comfortable integrating computational approaches into their research.

We are looking for a highly qualified individual to join our team as a Lecturer/Associate Professor in Computational Linguistics. The successful candidate will have a clear program of research within computational linguistics that makes contact with language theory or cognitive science of language.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out computational research that makes substantive contact with language theory or research on cognitive science of language.
  • Advise masters and doctoral students.
  • Contribute to the departmental teaching in natural language processing, computational linguistics, and linguistics, more generally.

Requirements

  • A PhD in computational linguistics or a closely related area.
  • An outstanding record of high-quality publications and research-related activity commensurate with the stage of their academic career.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
