Quantity Surveyor

Vistry Group PLC is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the Commercial department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting the Surveying department with cost management for development and contracting projects.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the compilation of tender packages for all sub-contract trades.
- Receive and analyze tenders, comparing tender levels and providing recommendations.
- Issue sub-contract orders in accordance with Group Policy and Commercial Best Practice, ensuring timely and budget-friendly completion.
- Liaise with the Build Department to monitor sub-contractors' performance and compliance with order conditions.
- Collaborate with the Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide forecast and site budget information, meeting business reporting requirements.
- Control and report post-contract cost movements, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Process invoices and applications for payments in accordance with Standard Terms and Conditions of Contract.
- Advise management of impending claims or legal actions arising from disputed claims or payments.
- Assist in determining sub-contract orders and liaising with the Build Department as needed.
- Utilize the Business Management System to manage site project administration, including orders, variations, valuations, and more.
- Review and settle variation invoices and applications for payment in accordance with Standard Terms and Conditions of Contract.
- Certify retention releases upon project completion and assist with the preparation and agreement of sub-contract final accounts.
- Maintain necessary systems for efficient filing and retrieval of information, adhering to the Business Management System.
- HNC/degree qualified in Quantity Surveying/Construction Management or equivalent.
- Good understanding of building regulations and legal obligations.
- Strong mathematical and IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to assess and analyze information, with excellent communication skills.
- Good understanding of budget management and ability to work under pressure.
- Able to perform with accuracy and attention to detail.
