We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Network Optimization Program Manager to join our European Transportation Network Design team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading programs that drive strategic initiatives and solve recurring problems around delivery quality, speed, cost, and carbon intensity of the Amazon Transportation network.
Key Responsibilities- Define Frameworks for Trade-Offs: Develop and implement frameworks to make informed trade-offs between quality, speed, cost, and carbon intensity.
- Identify Network Inefficiencies: Analyze the network to identify situations where trade-offs are not applied correctly, leading to inefficiencies.
- Build Proof of Concepts: Design and implement proof of concepts to solve identified problems.
- Automate Methodologies: Collaborate with Business Intelligence and Software Development teams to automate methodologies and improve network efficiency.
- Regular Review and Improvement: Establish a mechanism to regularly review gaps in optimality and suggest network changes to ensure problems stay fixed.
Our team is responsible for changing the way Amazon packages get from our warehouses to our customers, improving quality, speed, cost, and carbon efficiency while managing double-digit yearly volume growth. We help Amazon Transportation prepare for the Christmas period and tackle big recurring problems to remove waste from the network.
Requirements- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Transportation, Mathematics, Physics, or other technical field.
- Experience: Experience in Supply Chain, Transportation, Project Management, Management Consulting, or related fields.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex topics in simple terms. Strong stakeholder management capabilities, demonstrated ability to work in a team, customer-centric, and proven analytical thinking with a natural tendency to use data in decision-making and prioritization.
- Tools and Technologies: Advanced Excel proficiency, basic knowledge of SQL, process improvement and analytical tool building experience, and experience with data visualization (Tableau, PowerBI, or equivalent).
