Role Overview

We are looking for a talented Government Affairs Advisor to join our team at the Federation of Small Businesses. As a key member of our external affairs team, you will play a critical role in influencing policy decisions that impact small businesses across the UK.

Your expertise will be essential in evaluating risks, benefits, and opportunities for small businesses within the current political context. You will work closely with our policy, media, and communication teams to develop and implement effective lobbying strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and act upon risks, benefits, or opportunities to small businesses within the current political context
  • Develop and implement effective lobbying strategies to achieve policy change
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including MPs, advisors, ministers, and officials
  • Brief FSB's member leadership on key policy issues and developments
  • Work collaboratively with FSB's policy, media, and communication teams on specialist project teams

Salary: £42,000 - £50,000 per annum dependent on experience
