Job Description

As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with our Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation;
  • Supervising and mentoring kitchen staff, ensuring that all culinary tasks are performed to the highest standards;
  • Ensuring consistency and quality control across all dishes, with a particular focus on authentic Italian cuisine;
  • Managing inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper storage of ingredients;
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations;
  • Assisting in the development of new menu items, seasonal specials, and innovative Italian dishes;
  • Ensuring kitchen staff follows proper food handling procedures, hygiene standards, and safety protocols;
  • Helping with staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations;

This role requires a proven track record as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-end Italian restaurant or fine-dining setting. You should have good knowledge of traditional Italian cuisine and modern cooking techniques.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. They should be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and have excellent attention to detail. A passion for creating beautiful and delicious dishes is essential.

We estimate the net salary for this position to be between £2700 and £3300 per year, based on experience. The role requires 100% working hours and involves shift work. We will manage other people in this position.
