We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will work closely with the Production and Design teams to generate conceptual solutions and designs, produce detailed CAD design layouts and manufacturing drawings in an electro/mechanical design environment.

What the role will involve

The responsibilities of your role will include:

  1. Developing electrical/electronic concepts based on abstract schemes and/or customer specifications while considering the interaction with system and other design requirements
  2. Analyzing electrical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
  3. Developing block diagrams and interface control documentation
  4. Conducting experimental tests and evaluating results
  5. Selecting suitable components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability requirements
  6. Participating in and conducting design reviews on behalf of the company and presenting technical briefings as required
  7. Assessing vendor capability to support development
  8. Liaising with manufacturers and production engineering department

What you'll bring

The role requires the following experience and skills:

  1. Electrical design experience with a relevant degree qualification
  2. Ability to generate schematics to meet design requirements from first principles
  3. Experience in all aspects of PCB design/layout
  4. Proven knowledge of electro-mechanical systems
  5. Understanding of implementation of motors, solenoids and their control systems
  6. Understanding and appreciation of both digital and analogue electronic disciplines
  7. Understanding of material properties and selection criteria for application
  8. Manufacturing methods suitable for the design intent
  9. Cable design experience
  10. Test box design, build, commissioning and test
