Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Grinder to join our team at Omega Resource Group. As a CNC Grinder, you will be responsible for manufacturing and modifying engine components, including camshafts, crankshafts, and tooling, using CNC and manual grinding machines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and operate CNC grinding machines, including Junker and Kellenburger machines.
  • Set and operate manual grinding machines, including cylindrical and surface grinders.
  • Manufacture and modify engine components, including cams and cranks, to support internal and external engine development programs.
  • Perform quality control checks using measuring equipment, including gauges and CMMs.
  • Perform basic TPM on all equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Mentor and instruct junior staff and apprentices in manufacturing operations.
  • Active participation in the introduction of new equipment and process changes.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and suggest improvements regarding methods, processes, and tooling.
  • Consider the health and safety, environmental, and energy impact of all activities.
  • Support the Company's compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate technical information.
  • Knowledge of multiple grinding methods, including internal and external grinding.
  • Experience with work holding methods.
  • Conversant with machine code and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of tool setting, measuring equipment, and wheel mounting/dressing.
  • Numerical and computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Automotive engineering experience or background.
