Job Summary

The Michigan State University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Hazzard and a youth advisory board to plan and conduct an NIH-funded longitudinal study in adolescents in Genesee County.

Key Responsibilities

  • Helping organize bi-monthly youth advisory board meetings
  • Obtaining approval from the institutional review board (IRB) for any updates to the study
  • Creating online surveys
  • Recruiting participants and answering questions about the study from adolescents and their families
  • Scheduling and conducting in-person study visits, which will involve survey and anthropometric data collection
  • Inviting participants to complete online surveys between in-person visits
  • Distributing participant incentives
  • Monitoring and managing data
  • Assisting in preparing reports for sponsor, academic journals, and the community

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a clinical field such as health or biological science
  • Minimum of one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in clinical and/or research
  • Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through a four year college degree program
  • Completion of required Institutional Review Board (IRB) training and certification within the first 30 days of employment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and/or interest in one or more of the following areas: nutrition, food access, mental health, adolescent health
  • Proficiency in online survey development with REDCap
  • Experience working with institutional review boards (IRBs)
