About the Programme

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our Safety Case/Hazard Management Graduate Programme. As a graduate on this programme, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in hazard management and safety case development.

The programme is designed to provide you with a broad education in all areas of hazard management, enabling your development as a safety case author. You will conduct placements at several of our sites and projects, and receive training with safety case authors, human factors consultants, engineers of all disciplines, radiation protection advisors, and specialists in assessing shielding requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the risks associated with nuclear operations and demonstrate through provision of safety justifications that the risks are As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
  • Produce, maintain, and develop an authorised/licensed suite of Site Safety Justification documentation to achieve the permissioning of nuclear facilities.
  • Conduct assessments, providing independent technical evaluations of nuclear facilities and the associated systems, structures, and components.
Requirements
  • A BSc or BEng (Hons) degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) subject.
  • A postgraduate qualification in Nuclear Science, such as an MSc or MEng, would be very useful.
  • Security Clearance and Trade Control restrictions apply, and you must be able to achieve and maintain SC clearance as a minimum.
