Accounting Role in a Dynamic Environment

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our finance team in Briton Ferry, Neath. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about maintaining accurate financial records.

About the Role:

  • We require an individual with excellent organizational skills to manage general ledger activities, ensuring timely financial statements comply with GAAP and internal policies.
  • The successful candidate will process fixed asset and general ledger transactions, reconcile accounts, and prepare payment proposals.
  • This role also involves preparing reports for authorities, managing intercompany reconciliations, and providing audit support.
  • A degree in Finance, AAT qualification, or equivalent is required, along with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Previous experience working collaboratively within a team and familiarity with SAP systems are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process fixed asset and general ledger transactions, including monthly closings
  2. Reconcile general and subledger accounts and prepare monthly payment proposals
  3. Post journal entries to Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet accounts
  4. Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and internal policies
  5. Prepare reports for authorities, including Intrastat and statistical summaries
  6. Manage intercompany reconciliations and assist with transfer pricing and financial statements documentation
  7. Conduct research to answer financial queries, provide audit support, and offer training for assigned tasks

Requirements:

  • A degree in Finance, AAT qualification, or equivalent
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and solve problems effectively
  • Proven experience working collaboratively within a team
  • Familiarity with SAP systems
  • Previous experience within the manufacturing sector
  • Knowledge of international business practices
