Quantitative Equity Analyst

Capital Group seeks highly motivated and self-directed individuals to fill the role of Equity Trading Quantitative Analyst. As a key member of our team, you will provide analysis of Capital's equity trading activities, focusing on implicit and explicit trading costs of different trading strategies and methods. You will also conduct research on equity market structures and characteristics.

The successful candidate will demonstrate deep knowledge of equity market trading and structure. They will provide accurate and timely analysis of Capital's global trading activities with respect to trading strategies, costs, and execution. Additionally, they will conduct research on equity market characteristics and structure for trading and other investment-related teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis of Capital's equity trading and market activity.
  • Collaborate with Equity Trading and Investment Professionals in the development of investment implementation strategies.
  • Have an understanding of algorithmic and manual execution strategies and be able to communicate effectively about those strategies with Equity Traders and counterparties.
  • Use a variety of analysis tools and technical skills to develop clear and informative reports and visualizations of data sets to support analysis.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, technologies, regulatory issues, and regional market structure.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in execution consulting or electronic sales at a broker-dealer, or experience with transaction and/or market structure analysis.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, with a strong emphasis on telling stories with data that can influence a trader's future behavior.
  • Understanding of equity trading market structure and trading rules for EMEA country markets.
  • Experience with common methods and benchmarks in Transaction Cost Analytics.
  • Experience handling equity market trade and quote data.
  • Experience with data analysis and statistical modeling. Bayesian modeling a plus.
  • Good to excellent abilities with some or all of the following toolkit: R, Python, SQL, Quarto, PowerBI, Shiny, Tableau, AWS Data Science/Sagemaker, and Databricks.
  • Sound judgment in resolving matters of high complexity.
  • Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work calmly, flexibly, independently, and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree.

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, you will also be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus, and a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
