SEN Specialist

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated SEN specialist to provide support to children with Autism and additional learning needs in schools across the region.
About the RoleThis is a full-time, ongoing supply position available for an experienced teaching assistant with a passion for working with children who have Autism or other special educational needs. The ideal candidate will possess up-to-date knowledge of Autism awareness, Safeguarding, and Prevent training. They must also be willing to register with Prospero Teaching and complete all necessary safeguarding checks.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff members to develop personalized support plans for students, promoting their social, emotional, and academic growth. They will also contribute to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that values diversity and fosters creativity.
Responsibilities- Support students with Autism and additional learning needs in a variety of educational settings
- Develop and implement individualized support plans tailored to each student's needs
- Collaborate with teachers to create engaging lesson plans and activities
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and adjust support strategies accordingly
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
- Degree in Education, Special Education, or related field (desirable)
- Up-to-date knowledge of Autism awareness, Safeguarding, and Prevent training
- Experience working with children with Autism and additional learning needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
As an SEN specialist with Prospero Teaching, you can expect:
