SEND Teaching Assistant Job Description

Milk Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team in a Primary School in Chester.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with complex needs and/or Autism in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation of resources to support learning outcomes.
  • Supervise individual or small groups of pupils during teacher-led activities, adjusting instructions as needed.
  • Monitor pupil progress and inform teachers of achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Support pupils in developing their independence and self-esteem.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Work with individuals or groups of children to support subjects and learning across the curriculum.
  • Establish supportive relationships with children, promoting respect and a positive school ethos.
  • Develop knowledge of specific needs and respond effectively.
  • Support class teachers in designing and producing learning activities and materials.
