Maintenance Specialist for Water Production Team

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical and Electrical Technician to join our Water Production team at Fobney Water Treatment Works in Reading. As a successful candidate, you will work in a multi-discipline team, responsible for scheduled, planned, and reactive maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures to minimize plant breakdown.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigating plant failures and performing repairs efficiently to avoid process interruptions.
  • Carrying out scheduled maintenance work on electrical equipment to minimize plant breakdowns.
  • Providing technical advice to the team and supporting technical trainees as needed.
  • Operating complex equipment, including pumps, control systems, and measurement devices.
  • Working in a physically demanding environment, requiring manual handling and physical fitness.

Requirements:

  • Time-served apprentice with an NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical and electrical qualification.
  • Experience working in water or a similar industry with transferable skills.
  • Ability to work on large industrial plant equipment, including pumps and utilities industry experience.
  • Valid driving license and willingness to obtain 18th Edition certification.

  • Competitive salary up to £39,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
  • Standby rota payments and overtime opportunities to increase earning potential.
  • 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 days with length of service.
