Wigan, Wigan, United Kingdom Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited Full time

About the Role

In this KS2 Teaching Assistant position, you will be working in a primary school in the Wigan area. The school creates an environment where all children can thrive and achieve their potential. This is a long-term role, initially temporary, but could lead to a permanent position for the right candidate.

Your Responsibilities

As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for helping pupils across Key Stage 2 in both group and one-to-one settings. You will assist children in understanding their work and staying focused. Additional intervention sessions may be required for reading, spelling, or maths. It is essential to work closely with the class teacher to provide the correct support for the children. Depending on the school's needs, you may be asked to move between classes within KS2, so flexibility and approachability are key.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have recent experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting. The ability to provide support in a flexible and approachable manner is also desirable. SEN experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential.
