About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the hospital's mechanical services and equipment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on a wide range of plant and equipment.
  • Manage work requests and ensure they are processed efficiently, including out-of-hours work.
  • Lead the work team during out-of-hours periods.
  • Take a proactive approach to developing and reviewing health and safety systems, work instructions, and working practices.
  • Participate in the Computerised Labour Control System, ensuring accurate and timely completion of work order documentation.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or other relevant training program, and hold relevant certifications such as City & Guilds and/or BTEC. You will also require proven experience working in a similar environment and a sound knowledge of mechanical building services. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
