Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Locum Consultant to join our team at the NHS Trust. As a Locum Consultant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality clinical services, supporting patient care, and contributing to the development of the department.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

  1. MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized by the General Medical Council (GMC).
  2. Full registration with the GMC with a license to practice.
  3. Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent in the relevant specialty, or within six months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview.
  4. Membership/Fellowship of the relevant Royal College (e.g., MRCP, FRCS).

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Higher research degree (MD, PhD) or equivalent.
  2. Relevant postgraduate qualifications in the specialty.

Experience:

  1. Significant experience working at consultant level or equivalent within the NHS or similar healthcare system.
  2. Demonstrable experience in managing complex cases within the specialty.

Skills and Competencies:

  1. Excellent clinical skills and decision-making abilities.
  2. Strong leadership and communication skills.
  3. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  4. Commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement in patient care.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Evidence of participation in clinical governance, audit, and research activities.
  2. Up-to-date training in life support (e.g., ALS, ATLS, APLS) relevant to the specialty.
