Data-Driven Buying and Merchandising Specialist

We are seeking a highly analytical individual to join our team as a Buying and Merchandising Analyst. This role is responsible for using data-driven insights to inform decision making for our product range and design team.
Key Responsibilities- Developing and maintaining our ordering model to ensure we have the right products in stock at the right time, optimising revenue and conversion while minimising costs.
- Owning the discontinuation process and cash recovery, ensuring maximum return on investment.
- Signing off on newness tenders, including RRP and intake margin, and investing in opportunities that drive business growth.
- Coordinating annual range budget and quarterly forecasting, providing accurate predictions and recommendations.
- Briefing the design team on areas of focus during design cycles, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Prioritising new sub-category opportunities for investment, identifying high-potential areas for growth.
- Developing propositions for new category investments, presenting compelling cases for business leaders.
- Signing off on white label/brand investments for non-core categories, ensuring strategic alignment.
- Reporting on range performance and stock levels in weekly and monthly trading meetings, providing actionable insights.
- Conducting regular range reviews, evaluating performance and making data-driven decisions.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an analytical role across merchandising, buying, or supply chain.
- Numerate degree (e.g., economics, mathematics).
- Advanced Excel skills, with a willingness to learn SQL.
- Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations, leveraging logical thinking to drive results.
- Strong organisational skills, juggling competing projects and prioritising tasks efficiently.
- Collaborative mindset, working effectively with cross-functional teams.
