About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Commercial Lawyer to join our team at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust. As part of our NWL Procurement Services, you will play a key role in providing expert legal advice and guidance on commercial and procurement matters.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior lawyer with a proven track record of delivering high-quality legal services in a complex environment. You will be responsible for advising our procurement teams on all aspects of commercial law, including contracting, competition, regulation, and information governance. Your expertise will ensure that we maintain compliance with statutory and legislative requirements, minimize risks, and achieve best value for money within the legal framework.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders, including finance directors and other senior leaders, to provide expert legal advice and support. Your experience in procuring external legal advice and managing external providers will be invaluable in this role.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build effective relationships with colleagues, partners, and clients. Your ability to motivate others to deliver key targets and goals will be essential in driving business success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide independent, expert advice and support on commercial and procurement matters.
  • Lead on governance and compliance activities to ensure compliant processes are followed and embedded within NWL PS and its Clients.
  • Review high-value, high-complexity contracts and provide professional assistance with preparation, review, and risk assessment.
  • Ensure key relationships with other legal and procurement professionals and internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Masters' degree in Law or equivalent qualification.
  • Significant post-graduate experience working in the public sector.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality legal services in a complex environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
