Health and Social Care Service Advisor

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom East Sussex County Council Full time

Do you want to make a difference in people's lives?

This role provides a valuable service to the community, to health and social care professionals and partner organisations. The role will involve taking calls and responding to emails from members of the public and a range of professionals, providing them with information and advice, or signposting or referring them onto the appropriate services to meet their health and social care needs.

This is an office-based role, and staff work shifts on a rota basis covering the hours of 8am to 10pm, including weekends and bank holidays. While this is a 24/7 service, advisors are not expected to work every evening or weekend, and there are pay enhancements for weekend working.

We will provide comprehensive training and a supportive environment in which to gain the knowledge of the range of health and social care support and services that are available for adults in the community and how these can be accessed.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have IT and communication skills;
  • Have some customer service experience, not necessarily in a health or social care;
  • Are self-motivated and who possess personal resilience to manage the large volumes of referrals coming into our service;
  • Are able to work in a fast-paced environment.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to work effectively in a team, have excellent communication skills, and be able to manage competing priorities.

We offer a diverse range of benefits to help and support you during your employment.
