IP Administrator Role

nChain is seeking a skilled IP Administrator to join our team and contribute to the administration of commercially valuable IP assets. As a key member of our IP team, you will be responsible for managing patent filings and prosecution, tracking deadlines, and ensuring data accuracy in our IP database.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage patent filings and prosecution through our network of IP counsels and service providers worldwide.
  2. Develop and maintain reporting dashboards to track deadlines associated with patent and trademark matters.
  3. Compile evidence of trademark use and IDS patent documentation as required, and facilitate the signing of legal documents and contracts.
  4. Manage renewals and assignments of patent and trademark rights.
  5. Ensure accurate storage and management of data relating to IP rights, and lead the implementation of an alternative IP database.
  6. Interact with the finance department for invoice approval and commercial terms.

Requirements and Experience

  • Previous experience in patent formalities and IP support is required, with a CIPA Administrator Certificate or equivalent a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, good IT skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Intercultural awareness and skills, with great team playing skills and good communication skills.
  • A good working knowledge of Excel, Patent & Trademark databases, and Intellectual Property Filings.
