Building Surveyor Position

We are seeking a skilled Building Surveyor to join our Planned Maintenance team within the Asset Services Directorate. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a range of in-house Building Surveying Services, Project Management, and Contract Administration.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver an efficient, responsive, and customer-focused Asset management service.
- Maintain and develop positive working relationships with external agencies and tenant groups.
- Manage budgets for the planned maintenance programme and ensure timely payment of invoices.
- Prepare cost plans, estimates, and schedules of works for tender.
- Liaise with Development and Housing Management staff for Handover inspections and appraisals.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies, statutory requirements, and legislation.
- Coordinate and manage an effective planned asset management service.
- Produce CAD drawings for feasibility studies, statutory approvals, and tender.
- Administer NEC construction projects and manage contractors under a Measured Term Contract.
- Degree in Building Surveying or similar discipline with a minimum of 1 year's experience in construction (new and refurbishment work), or a Level 5 qualification in a relevant field with at least 3 years' experience.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety in the Construction industry, including CDM NI 2016 Regulations.
- Familiarity with contracts management, including the NEC suite of contracts, Measured Term Contracts, and Framework Agreements.
- Full, clean driving licence with access to private transport.
- Aspiration to work towards Chartered Membership of a building-related professional body such as RICS, CIOB, or similar.
