Postdoctoral Research Scientist Climate Response to Aviation NOx Emissions
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join our team and contribute to the Climate Response to Aviation NOx Emissions project. The successful candidate will investigate the climate impacts of aircraft NOx emissions and work closely with the project team to achieve our research goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and implement simulations using the UK Earth system model (UKESM1.1) to quantify the effects of NOx emissions on the atmosphere and climate.
- Analyse the outputs from these simulations to understand the climate response to aviation NOx emissions.
- Collaborate with project partners and contribute to the departmental research environment through seminars and group meetings.
- Develop and maintain expertise in quantitative atmospheric and climate sciences.
- PhD or equivalent in physical sciences or applied mathematics.
- Knowledge of quantitative atmospheric or climate sciences.
- Experience in running climate or other atmospheric models.
- Scientific analysis skills.
