About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Practitioner to join our North Somerset Council team in the UK Resettlement Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of the North Somerset Council United Kingdom Resettlement Scheme, supporting individuals and families on government resettlement programmes from Syria, Afghanistan, and Ukraine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise and work in partnership with local government, professional partners, voluntary groups, and charities to develop plans for resettlement within our communities.
  • Support families and individuals, including those on government resettlement programmes, to settle and integrate into our communities.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including local authorities, community groups, and service providers.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the North Somerset Council Resettlement Scheme, ensuring it meets the needs of individuals and families.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to colleagues within the team to ensure effective delivery of the scheme.
Requirements
  • Highly effective individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work confidently alone or as an effective member of a team within a multiagency environment.
  • Passion for finding solutions and willingness to try different approaches to achieve results.
  • NVQ level 3 or 4 or equivalent qualifications.
  • Valid driving licence and own transport, or ability to provide alternative suitable method of travel.
