Clinical Consultant in Reproductive Health

This role requires an experienced Operating Surgeon to provide safe and effective Surgical Abortion pathways to our patients.

The successful candidate will have a pro-active and enthusiastic approach, working as part of a wider team to ensure high standards of clinical care and efficiency.

Main Duties:

1. Carry out medical assessments face-to-face or remotely for abortion provision, contraceptive advice, and provision of LARCs.
2. Provide assessments for post-abortion problems and work with the pre-operative team to advise on medical or other conditions affecting patient management.
3. Advise patients on complication rates and potential risks associated with treatments as required.
4. Ensure patients are fully aware of all important issues relating to treatment and aftercare.
5. Complete statutory documentation and maintain accurate patient records.

Skills and Qualifications:

• At least three years' experience in gynaecology or reproductive and sexual health care.
• Experience of independent practice for abortion procedures relevant to the post applied for, or willingness to be trained in-house.
• GMC full registration with no restrictions to work in the UK.
• Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG).
